The City of New Haven received funding from the State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for improvements to Edgewood Park.  Part of these improvements includes reconstruction of at least 8,000 square feet of the Edgewood Skate Park.  The City conducted a public Request for Proposals for the skatepark, and selected Rampage LLC to be the designer and builder of the skatepark improvements.  Rampage has previously completed improvements at Edgewood Park and Scantlebury Park.

On May 1, 2024, the City held a public meeting to show the preliminary design to users of the skatepark.  Based on the feedback at the meeting, the Rampage has modified the design to provide some more opportunities for bike riders, while maintaining many of the well-received elements of the design.  Please see the animation and document below for more information.
