New Haven Climate and Sustainability Framework
New Haven's Climate and Sustainability Framework grew out of a community effort to address climate change and sustainability in New Haven in a meaningful and impactful way. In January 2016, the New Haven Climate Movement called on the City to provide an update to its 2004 Climate Action Plan and implement strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Under the Mayor’s leadership, staff worked together with advocates, dedicated volunteers, and enthusiastic members of the public through an extensive planning process to develop this new Framework. The Climate and Sustainability Framework puts forth a goal of 55% reduction of 2001 emissions by 2030 for New Haven. To achieve this goal, all of the New Haven community- government, businesses, institutions, non-profits, community organizations, and neighbors- will need to work together to affect real change. Please see the Framework below to see how you can get involved!
Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE)
C-PACE (Commercial Property Assesed Clean Energy) financing is provided by the Connecticut Green Bank to increase the affordability of sustainable energy upgrades for buildings. The C-PACE program is available to commercial, industrial, non-profit, and multi-family property owners alike. In New Haven, C-PACE funds were most recently awarded to United Church on the Green in June 2018 for an energy efficiency upgrade. If you are interested in finding out more about how C-PACE can help finance your next project, please visit www.cpace.com.
