Are You Planning on Retiring From Your Position With the City?
- Check your Local Bargaining Unit Contract for retirement criteria.
- Employees age 65 or over, Medicare Parts A and B must be in place the first of the month following retirement. (10 month employees retiring in June will need to have Medicare in place September 1st in the year of retirement).
- Life insurance terminates upon retirement. If you would like to continue coverage, you must contact Standard Insurance Company within 31 days of retirement at 1-800-378-4668.
For Retirees...
At age 65 Medicare Parts A and B must be in place the first of the month of your birthday.
Age 65 or Over Future Retirees and Retirees...
- Contact your local Social Security Office for additional information and forms.
- Supplement to Medicare will be provided to retiree (if applicable) based on language of Local Bargaining Unit Contract the year you retired.
- A copy of Medicare card (Parts A and B) must be submitted to this office to process supplement.
