Interested in becoming a New Haven Police Junior Cadet?

Who

New Haven residents ages 13-20 years old who are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. The applicants must maintain a “C” average in school, complete an oral interview process, participate in weekly meetings in addition to volunteering your time to attend junior cadet functions.

What

We further the Junior Cadets education of law enforcement, while providing purpose, direction and motivation. Junior Cadets participate in rewarding community activities to include but not limited to, community clean ups, toy drives, soup kitchens and road race details while working side by side with officers and the community.

The New Haven Police Academy located at 710 Sherman Pkwy, New Haven

Why

Junior Cadets will prepare for future roles as productive community members, leaders and future law enforcement careers while maintaining a level and awareness of physical fitness. This program also provides an alternative to negative influences that youths may encounter.
