The City of New Haven’s Extreme Hot Protocols are activated when there is high heat and humidity with temperatures above 90 degrees for an extended period of time (2 to 3 days or more), consistent with the State of Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol. When Extreme Hot Protocols are activated, all city libraries and senior centers are opened as cooling centers during their normal business hours. For locations and additional information on the City of New Haven’s cooling centers, please visit here or call 2-1-1.
In addition, splash pads hours are expanded to 10AM - 8PM. To find a splash pad near you, please visit here.
Any heat-related emergencies should be reported to 9-1-1.
