Appointed by the Mayor per Article VII, Sec.3. of the Revised City Charter, 11/2013: Term Five Years (5).
The Civil Service Commission reviews job descriptions, qualifications, and revisions as proposed by the Personnel Director. They also certify lists of eligible candidates for positions in all Departments, based upon the determinations of qualifications and scores of examinations certified to the board by the Personnel Director and the board's determination that its rules have been complied with.
